FARGO (KFGO) – A West Fargo man has been charged with felony reckless endangerment, fleeing and other charges after he was arrested by the State Patrol Friday night in Fargo during a special traffic law enforcement crackdown.
Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind said the driving behavior of 22-year-old Mario Rodriquez was extremely dangerous.
“Our pilot actually tracked him for about an hour throughout the Fargo Moorhead area, he was in Fargo, he was over in Moorhead, north Fargo, kind of all over the community, driving recklessly the entire time, he was clocked at one point in time at 125 mph in a 35 mph hour zone on Veterans Boulevard,” Niewind said.
“Splitting vehicles, driving recklessly, going through intersections without stopping for red lights, he nearly struck one of our patrol cars during the incident as well,” he added.
Rodriquez was released from the Cass County Jail after posting bail.
Niewind said Rodriquez didn’t have a license plate on his sports bike or the proper endorsement for driving a motorcycle, was driving with a suspended license and had no liability insurance.
The motorcycle was impounded. Niewind said the patrol has asked that the bike be seized, something the state’s attorneys office would have to do through a civil forfeiture action.
Two other motorcyclists were also cited for fleeing during the aerial enforcement.
