FARGO (KFGO) – A Cass County deputy says a woman was nearly hit by a car driven by a Fargo man who was arrested for drunken driving and other charges in a south Fargo residential neighborhood Sunday night.
An incident report from Deputy Craig Keller says he was preparing to begin his patrol shift when he saw a white convertible speed past his home.
His radar showed that the car was going 72 in a 25 mph zone.
The car driven by Jens Tinjum, 40, collided with another car. That driver had gotten out of her car 25 seconds before impact according to doorbell camera video provided by a man who lives nearby. Keller says children were playing and people were walking and biking. Tinjum was ordered out of his car at gunpoint.
The collision took place near the intersection of 37th Avenue and 18th Street.
Tinjum was arrested on charges that include DUI, aggravated reckless driving, endangerment and fleeing. A woman who was in the car with Tinjum was released.
