ST. PAUL, Minn. – Authorities are investigating a shooting by police in St. Paul Monday night that left a woman dead.
Investigators say officers called to the report of a suicide in progress were speaking with a woman when she produced a handgun and pointed it at officers.
The officers fired their weapons, striking the woman. Paramedics provided treatment but she died at the scene.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is leading the investigation. The officers involved are being placed on administrative leave.
